Atelier Ensemble

We are a trio committed to giving deeply emotive performances of music, uncovering lesser-known classical works, and championing contemporary composers.

Members

Scott Bryant, violin

Scott began violin lessons in his youth at the Garnock Outreach Project, before later taking lessons at the Juniors Department at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, in which he is now studying for his undergraduate degree.  He was the leader of the National Youth Symphony Orchestra of Scotland for their 2022 season and has performed with orchestras such as the British-Croatian Festival Orchestra and the BBC Proms Youth Ensemble.  He especially enjoys performing contemporary music, collaborating with living composers and has been a member of the RCS-resident new music group ‘Studio Collective’ since it’s 2020 pilot.  Scott studies under the tutelage of Justine Watts.

Rebekah Lesan, cello

Slovak-American cellist and composer Rebekah Lesan approaches all the music she plays, from ancient to modern, with creativity. Her work with other emerging composers explores multimedia, pairing cello with electronics or ensembles with visual media. A prizewinner at multiple competitions both for solo play and chamber music, she has performed in recitals, concerts, and music festivals in over seven countries. Having moved to Glasgow to further pursue music, Rebekah is nearing the end of her studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, under Robert Irvine. Elements of several genres influence her own compositions, including folk, classical contemporary, and ambient music. Throughout all her work, she strives to create beauty with authenticity and help people of all ages understand and value the meaning of life.

Sinae Sung, piano

Sinae Sung is a South-Korean pianist, who is currently doing her Doctor of Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, under the supervision of Sinae Lee, Roy Howat and Daniel Gimwood. She is researching the German composer Adolf von Henselt. Prior to this, Sinae graduated from the Master’s of Music and Artistic Diploma course at the RCS, and also graduated from the Bachelor of Music at the Gachon University in South Korea with top honours.

Sinae started her musical studies at the age of 5 and continued to pursue her craft in middle school with the Samsung Dream Scholarship Funding. She has had numerous performance in Paju, Seong-nam, Aberdeen, Glasgow, London and Schwabach (Germany). Recently in 2022, Sinae joined Live Music Now Scotland as a flexible accompanist. She possesses a wonderful technique and is a compelling interpreter in a wide range of styles.
